I see the role of a celebrant being centred around one word: 'LOVE '. Love of someone or something - Love and celebration of a newborn - Love and celebration of two people in love, making a commitment to each other - Love of someone whom you are saying goodbye to - Love for a pet that you're saying goodbye to - the love of a couple wishing to retake their vows of marriage after 10, 20 or more years together - the love of a child whom you are naming in front of your friends and family.
A bit about me...
My name is Simon Bryson and I'm The Lincolnshire Celebrant. I'm also a lecturer in Business and Tourism at the University Centre Grimsby, and married with two grown up children.
For the times I'm not planning and preparing lectures and celebrant services, I take every opportunity to 'down tools' and get outdoors - walking with my two dogs, hiking, biking and running - relaxing whilst contemplating and planning. It's in this time I have my best ideas!
After considering the profession of Celebrant for some time - floating the idea to family, friends, colleagues and hearing various renditions of "Yes, that is you!" I took the plunge and trained with with the International College for Professional Celebrants and it was one of the best things I have done. Learning an abundance of elements to consider, which I think are key to being a good celebrant.
It's an honour and a privilege to be a part of such important and special events, and I feel incredibly lucky to be considered to contribute my skills and services for each of them.

-Thank You, Simon.
